First State Bank of Forsyth Internet Banking is a convenient way to access your accounts without going to the Bank.  Internet Banking is available to you from your home or office – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week just by using your personal computer.


What Can I Do With Internet Banking?

You can access your checking, savings, certificate of deposits, or loans to verify balances, *transfer money between accounts, order checks and export information to your personal financial software.

How Do The Balances That Are Shown Online Compare To The Bank Computer Balances?

First State Bank of Forsyth “Real time Access” for your balance information.  This means that the balance you see at home is exactly what the balance shows at the bank.  In most cases, if you make a deposit or cash a check or even use your Debit Card, you will be able to see that transaction online immediately.


How Much Does Internet Banking Cost?

Is Internet Banking Private and Secure?

First State Bank of Forsyth has incorporated state-of-the-art security to ensure both privacy and security.  We require passwords, data encryption, firewalls and internal security procedures.


What is Data Encryption?

Data encryption is a method of coding information in order to provide privacy for the data flowing between your computer and the bank’s online server.  We use 128-bit encryption.


What Is A Firewall?

Our computer systems are protected by a system of filtering routers and firewalls, which create a protective shield between the outside Internet and the internal network of First State Bank of Forsyth.  We use layers of technology to ensure that your Internet transactions are secure and tamper-proof.


What Can I Do To Protect Myself?

Your Logon ID and Password provide one of the most important security features for Internet Banking.  Because you can select and change your password at anytime, you can prevent unauthorized online access to your accounts.

Ø      Take precautions to keep your computers free from viruses that might be used to capture password keystrokes or send information from your hard drive.

Ø      Please be careful where you choose to do your Internet Banking and what you do with your transaction data.  DO NOT use coffee shop Internet hook-ups or rented computers.  Computers can be configured to capture private information from unsuspecting Internet users.

Ø      If you get an unexpected web page asking you for your credit card, password or                 account information, DO NOT disclose information.

Ø      DO NOT share diskettes that contain confidential information even if you think you have erased the information.

Ø      It is a good idea to shred printouts of your account information before discarding them.


 What Equipment Do I Need?

First State Bank of Forsyth Internet Banking works best on Microsoft XP, 2000, NT, or 98 operating systems and Internet Explorer 5.5 and higher.  It also works on Netscape 6.1 and higher. Your browser must support 128-bit encryption.  With Apple computers, Internet Banking will work with the latest Internet Explorer 5.5 for Macintoch 5.1.5 and operating system 90 or greater.

Can I Access First State Bank of Forsyth Through My Current Internet Service?

How Do I Get Started?

If you have an account with First State Bank of Forsyth, you will need to fill out enrollment form (either online or at one of our offices).  You will be issued an Access ID and a temporary Password after completing the enrollment form, which will be sent via U.S. Mail.  After receiving your Access ID and temporary Password you will need to go to our web site and click on the “Online Banking” button.  You will then need to click on the “Log On” button.  Enter your Access ID and temporary Password.  You will be required to change your Password, and you will have the option of changing your Access ID.  Your new Password must be between 6 and 17 characters long and include at least one number and one alpha character.
